Museum of Wonder

The Museum of Wonder is a museum and art installation in Seale, Alabama. Mixing found objects and paintings, the museum is a cultural center for the small town, and highlights the unique and eccentric communities of rural Alabama. The designs had to accentuate and draw attention to these aspects without exploiting them, while also maintaining the style of Butch Anthony, the artist who created and exhibits his work at the museum. The objective of the project was to create a specific identity and re-brand for the museum.

The publication AD had to intrigue the viewer to look further into the Museum, and force them to stop when flipping through the magazine.

The main obstacle of re-branding the Museum was creating a style that reflected the contents of the museum, while still honoring the eccentricities and oddities of the artist, Butch Anthony. By creating a specific typographic style that was wacky and eclectic, the brand existed as a separate voice to the artwork that was exhibited, to communicate the vague and interesting nature of the Museum of Wonder.
