Church, a bar located in Nashville, TN, takes heavy inspiration from the culture of the South, and the influence that religion and community have on the Southeast. The goal of this project was to create an identity that indulged in the loud, outrageous, clever, surprising, and experimental, but also maintained a level of familiarity. Taking inspiration from various church ephemera, like bulletins, fliers, and familiar signage across the South, the typographic voice and conversational nature of the brand looks to show the individuality that can be embraced within a sometimes seemingly narrow-minded environment.
